Most strategies don’t fail in planning.
They fail in ex*****on.
And it happens every year.
Between October and December, teams build solid, well thought out strategic plans. Then January hits, and without a clear way to drive the work forward, momentum slows or stops altogether.
What separates plans that work from plans that stall isn’t effort or intent. It’s ex*****on.
Plans succeed when leaders
• clearly explain the strategy
• assign clear ownership
• set dates and milestones
• track early signs of progress
• stay involved and engaged
And ex*****on depends on communication. Leaders have to keep teams informed, explain what’s changing, and reinforce the message over and over. Consistent language and steady updates keep everyone aligned.
🔑 Leader imperative: Strategy works when leaders drive it. Say it clearly. Own it visibly. Repeat it often.
