Members of the Holmdel Township Police Department will be participating in the 41st NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey. The Flame of Hope will be transferred from Middletown to Holmdel and then on to Hazlet.

Please be advised that the run will pass through Holmdel on Highway 35 at around 1 pm, Friday, June 7th. As officers carry the Flame of Hope from one town to the next, the department appreciates your patience if you encounter traffic during this time.

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the Holmdel PD is participating in the Blue Envelope Program. The Blue Envelope Program is designed for drivers with autism to help identify themselves to officers during traffic stops by explaining that the driver has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The free envelope, which can be picked up at 4 Crawfords Corner Road, is provided for drivers to keep their driving documents in one place. The Blue Envelope has tips for both the driver and the officer to help improve communication. The envelope contains an emergency contact form that should also be kept in the envelope inside the vehicle. The Blue Envelope Program is made possible by the Monmouth County Chiefs Association and can be picked up 24/7 at Holmdel PD Dispatch in Town Hall.
