Thank you to D1 Training in Burlington for hosting our Summer Sport-Based Therapy Groups this year! Over the past 7 weeks, the two groups participated weekly sessions designed and led by licensed clinicians to help each client build confidence, teamwork, and resilience — all while having fun.

While our summer groups are coming to an end, we're as busy as ever gearing up for the 2025-26 school year. Curious about our programs or looking to get involved? Visit our website today!

We’re honored to be among the nonprofit grantees supporting Take Back Sports, ESPN’s initiative to reverse the drop in youth participation and make sports more fun and inclusive for all kids. Together, we’re working to Take Back Sports by creating access, providing training, and making sports more fun-first for every child.

"Goals for Good," the 3-on-3 soccer tournament hosted by Doc Wayne's high school summer interns, was recently featured on WBZ NewsRadio. Dozens of people participated in the tournament last Sunday, August 3rd, and the fundraiser has raised over $3,000 for Doc Wayne programming so far.

Thank you to our interns Risa, Jesse, and Liza for all the hard work they put to organize this fundraiser, and thank you to all of the businesses and organizations who helped make the event possible through all of their contributions. As we near the end of the summer and the beginning of another school year, we want to thank our dedicated team for all their hard work this past year! To celebrate our staff, Doc Wayne hosted our third annual Field Day last Friday, July 25, at Coolidge Park in Brookline. The team competed in games like dodgeball, water balloon toss, basketball, and kickball before running back to the office to avoid the surprise afternoon thunderstorms. Thank you to the entire Doc Wayne family for all of the time and effort you put in each and every day. Here's to another incredible year!

We love seeing stories like this one from The Bentley University Newsroom that highlight the healing power of sports. As a Bentley alum and believer in sport-based therapy, our very own CEO David Cohen shares how his journey has led him to Doc Wayne, where we're combining clinical care and play to support youth mental health every day. ⚽💙🏀

Earlier this month, members of the Doc Wayne family were invited for a game and batting practice experience at Fenway Park to watch the Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays. The Doc Wayne group was able to go on the field before the game, watch batting practice, and take in a Red Sox win in a fierce divisional rivalry.

This season, the Red Sox are shining a spotlight on community nonprofits working to expand access to mental health and wellness support across New England through their Changeup the Conversation initiative. We are proud to partner with the Red Sox on this incredible initiative, and together, we’re raising awareness, challenging stigma, and creating meaningful, positive experiences for youth and adults.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the and for hosting us at the game and for all of their efforts to promote mental health and wellness this season and beyond!

This past week, members of our team attended the 2025 FundPlay Summit at Fenway Park, joining fellow sports-based youth development leaders from across Massachusetts and beyond.

Hosted by FundPlay Foundation, this event was a powerful opportunity to connect with local peers, exchange best practices, and learn from experts on topics like advocacy, community impact, and capacity building.

We’re grateful to be part of this incredible community of change makers using sport as a force for good and we're especially thankful to FundPlay for bringing this gathering to Boston!💚
