In the full swing of Midsummer
Can you believe it?
We are almost to July, the seventh month of the year! Where June marks the half way mark and the transition into summer in many parts of the world, July is a month of true SUMMER for us here in the USA. It is a month filled with sunshine, celebrations, and summer activities!
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year with the shortest night. It is the time of warm evenings and if your lucky or in the country you might even get a glimpse of fireflies aglow. It is a time of sun, fire, warmth, and bounty of the land.
Midsummer has been observed in many cultures around the world from the Greeks, to the Romans, Celts, Norse, Aztec, Maya and more. Different cultures celebrated this time in their own ways as the Sun provided life for the Earth.
We in South Carolina celebrate in our own way this season of bounty. The tomatoes are beginning to ripen in our gardens and the first of the summer harvest is well on its way. Some of us might enjoy lake days or beach days as warm weather beckons us to seek out water. Perhaps some of you prefer bon fires or camping with marshmallows. In some ways it can be seen as a tribute to customary fire festivals from ancient times of our ancestors.
However you celebrate your perfect version of summer remember to give thanks for the warmth of the sun, the special harvest of the season, the beauty of all the flora and fauna and for the Earth. For without the planet and the sun we would be lost.

June and July share some pretty important holidays. We like to wish all a happy Juneteenth and Pride month in June and a happy Fourth of July in July. Some celebrate all, some celebrate none, but we welcome everyone and want to share our love with all cultures and people!
Blessed sun, we greet your rays
upon the sacred solstice day.
Welcome be your warmth and light,
bringing day out of the night.
We greet the dawn with joyous heart,
and so Midsummer now does start!
What are ways we can honor the season around us and enjoy summer? Well, I'm glad you asked!
Some fun summer activities for the introvert can be...
1. Sitting outside and feeling a evening wind, or perhaps listening to a distant summer thunderstorm. Maybe listening to the sounds at dusk, of the crickets, or the last of the 17 year cicadas, or watching fireflies come to life.
2. Making a summer drink for you or family such as lemonade, blackberry tea, or if you feel a little bougie perhaps a summer sangria.
3. Herb crafting - whether it be a wreath or bundle of herbs, creating a home made tea or potpourri sachet. Collecting and getting your hands into the earth is a great way to enjoy the season.
4. Enjoying a good sit by a firepit, perhaps with a good book.
Did you happen to catch something above? Each activity correlated to a specific element - Air, Water, Earth, Fire. It's amazing how little thing can represent something much larger and how our daily fun activities can incorporate the earth and giving thanks for the planet we inhabit!
Some fun activities for the extrovert can be...
1. Taking a nice drive with some friends or family - windows open for bonus points, adventuring to somewhere new.
2. Tubing down a river with some friends or family. How fun would it be to take some time just to relax on the river, lemonade in hand.
3. Getting some kiddos or friends together for an afternoon making pinecone suet feeders for the birds. It maybe a kid activity, but its still a fun one for adults too! Get the girls together for an afternoon of getting peanut butter and pinecones, seeds and some good creative time!
4. Gathering friends together for a bonfire or firepit in the back yard. Maybe grill out and share some in on some fun together with some backyard games.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that induces a state of focused attention like meditation, heightened suggestibility and deep relaxation. During hypnotherapy you enter into a hypnotic state of mind where you are in full control of your mind and body and the facilitator can help guide you into a trance-like state, where you can access your subconscious mind. This state allows you to explore and address underlying thoughts, feeling and behaviors making them more receptive to positive suggestion and therapeutic intervention.

BRINGING YOU SOME REMINDERS:
We wanted to remind you of some things in our policy here at Live Healthy. Be Healthy. and Fresh Feet Foot Care. Some of the rules have started collecting dust bunnies and it's time we dusted them off and brought them back out 🙂
1. We have no receptionist
We will try to get back to you as soon as we can but we do not have a full-time receptionist. If you call on or after Thursday, you may not receive a call back till the following Monday. Fear not good friends! We will return your call but we ask for your patience with us.
2. We still have a cancellation policy
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours in advance you WILL be charged for the appointment and that invoice will need to be paid before you can book your next appointment. We don't want to be mean, but this takes away from others who could have the appointment and it means empty spots in our booking. Let us be kind to each other and remember to secure and hold our appointments times.
3. We still have a late or no call, no show policy
If you are more than 15 mins. late or if you no call, no show to your appointment you will be charged for your appointment. It kind of goes without saying, but we do reserve the right to charge for not showing up. This also takes away from others who could have the appointment. We will be more than happy to reschedule you, should you need us to, but please remember our cancellation policy as well. To call to cancel or reschedule just call: 864-243-8614 or we do the texting too! Just give us a text at 864-362-6332! We appreciate YOU as our clients and want to make sure that respect is had on both sides! Thank you for your understanding!
Looking forward to Healthy. Happy. Hydrated. Summer!
