☀️ Summer may have just begun, but we all know how fast it flies!
The start of school will be here before we know it, so now’s the perfect time to schedule your child’s school and/or sports physical so you’re not scrambling in August.

For kids age 3 and up, annual well-child checks are recommended. (These happen more frequently from birth through age 3.) These visits are about more than just a physical—they’re an important time to track growth, monitor development, talk about mental health, and make sure vaccines are current. So if your child hasn’t had a checkup since their last birthday, it’s a good time to get that scheduled too. 📅

If you’re looking for an independent practice that focuses on personalized care, we’d love to welcome you as a new patient. ☎️

🎉 Celebrating Faith’s 2-year (work) anniversary!

While a strong doctor-patient relationship means everything, sometimes it’s the team behind the scenes that makes the biggest impact. We truly couldn’t do what we do without her.

Her care, humor, and attention to detail make our office a better place—for both our patients and our staff.

Faith, we’re so grateful to have you on the team! 🌟💕

Help us wish “our” Bridget a Happy Nurses Week! 💙

Her compassion, dedication, and calming presence remind us of what makes nursing a calling.

Whether she’s offering a listening ear, a reassuring word, or simply brightening the day for our patients and staff, Bridget goes above and beyond.

Though she’s only been with us a few months, it feels like she’s always been here. (Bridget, we know we’re a lot, so thank you for putting up with us! 🤪 We’re so grateful for ALL you do.)

Wishing our good doctor a very happy 50-ish birthday. ☺️ “An insider” reports that the day was filled with all of his favorite things: family and friends, a bike ride, live music and chocolate cake.

Sounds pretty great to us!

We’re incredibly grateful for everything he does for our patients and our team. Please join us in wishing Dr. Lanier a very happy birthday!

The current healthcare system has reduced family medicine to quick visits for sniffles and minor conditions, limiting family physicians from practicing the full scope of their training. But family physicians are experts in far more—including chronic disease prevention, dermatology, pediatrics, women’s health, and even delivering babies.

While specialists are crucial for complex cases, family doctors are specialists too—in whole-person, lifelong care. This weekend, Dr. Lanier attended a conference to learn from leading experts in cardiovascular disease prevention and lipidology, including Dr. Christie Ballantyne (pictured here). He’s continuing his journey toward certification in clinical lipidology to bring even more specialized care to our patients.

Not all primary care is the same. When choosing a practice, look beyond the basics and find a practice that prioritizes comprehensive, expert-level care—like we do. 💙

Today is National Wear Red Day to help raise awareness of the No. 1 killer of women, cardiovascular disease.
❤️♥️🩷
As women, we’re often so busy caring for everyone else that we neglect our own health. The most important way to reduce risk of heart disease is to have a primary care physician you trust, prioritize those annual check-ups and any scheduled follow-ups, and know your numbers, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. ❤️‍🩹💪

If you need to establish a relationship with a primary care physician, we’d love to welcome you as a new patient and have you experience the 💪

We’re swooning over the newest (and tiniest) addition to our team. 💕💝
Abigail (one of our longtime Medical Assistants), husband and big brother, welcomed Baby Evalyn into the world on Monday morning. After many prayers and long, emotional years for this family, we are over the moon to see them finally holding this precious little one. 🙏
Mom and baby are doing great, and we hope you’ll join us in showering them with messages of love and encouragement as they enter this new chapter. 🥰

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Bridget Phillips—better known as “Nurse Bridget”!

In her role as Clinical Manager, she’ll lead our clinical team, oversee patient care, and keep our practice running smoothly.

With over 24 years of nursing in a variety of settings, Bridget brings unmatched expertise and a lifelong passion for caring for others.

She and her husband, a Marine of 25 years, have called Wilmington home for nearly 15 years. Together, they’ve raised four incredible daughters—two in college, two in high school- who are all accomplished athletes and share a love of swimming and running.

Despite a busy schedule of working full-time, raising a family, and training for marathons and ultramarathons (ask her about her recent 50-mile event win!), Bridget also finds time to give back to the community. She’s involved in numerous organizations, including Waves of Wilmington Swim Club, the YMCA, and Without Limits.

We can’t wait for you to meet Bridget—you’re sure to love her megawatt smile, warmth, and enthusiasm. Please join us in giving her the warmest welcome! ⬇️⬇️

Help us wish Dr. Newell (a.k.a. “Dr. Noodle” by our littlest patients 🤣) a very happy birthday! She’s an incredible physician with a huge heart, and we’re so grateful she’s “ours”. 🥰

We don’t know who needs to hear this today, but an annual checkup is arguably the most important appointment you can make this year. Why?

✅ Even if you’re “feeling fine”, many health conditions have no symptoms at all. An annual physical allows your doctor time to check your vitals, identify abnormal blood values, and ensure you get recommended screenings based on your age, risk factors, etc.

✅ Ignoring a health concern doesn’t make it go away. In fact, many untreated health conditions worsen over time, making them more difficult (and expensive) to treat.

✅ Unlike sick visits, regular checkups provide you and your doctor time for open and honest conversation about your mental health, stress levels, sleep patterns, and overall lifestyle habits, which all play an important role in your health.

✅ Knowing you're actively monitoring your health reduces anxiety (which is also good for your health!).

📢 If you don’t have a relationship with a primary care physician that focuses on keeping you healthy and living better (not just longer), we’d be honored to welcome you as a new patient!
