I very often get asked "is _______ something you could help with?"
The answer is almost always "yes probably, come in and see me". If it's an obvious emergency then of course I would say to take care of that first, but I don't get asked in that case. If a patient comes in and needs a referral to someone else I will do that. The majority of the time though I CAN help substantially even if they also need a referral to a different type practitioner. Headaches, hand numbness, blurry vision, shoulder pain, jaw pain, vertigo and many other problems are often associated with neck problems. Sometimes the need I hurts as well but by no means always. The nerves that run from the brain, through the spine and out to the body from the neck can be affected, even if the smaller nerves supplying the joints and muscles of the neck are not.
Lung issues, stomach problems, rib pain and many others can be from upper back issues. Leg pain or numbness, sciatica, sacroiliac pain, hip pain, foot problems, urinary tract problems, knee pain, constipation and many other things can be from low back issues. Again this may or may not be accompanied by low back pain.
The point is, I'm glad to see if I can help with ANY heath problem. If it's not something I can do or you need additional help I will let you know.
