Athlete of the Month: Alex Petersen
Alex embodies two main things we strive to teach everyone at the gym.
First, is that being consistent is the best thing you can be.
Second, is that big isn’t strong, strong is strong.
Alex has been in the TPS Method program for a few years and has been consistent coming in the mornings or evening taking full advantage of the flexible scheduling of the program. His consistency, finally came together in our recent program wide 1RM squat and deadlift tests where Alex hit some PRs that we usually one see folks hit in the “beginner gains” phase of their training.
Pulling into the mid 400s and closing in on a 400lb squat Alex in a reminder to all of us that strength is about way more that being a big huge muscle bound guy. He moves well and gives every session all the effort he has for the day.
We could all strive to be a bit more like Alex. If you see him in the gym, morning or night, give him some congratulations on his PRs!

Sometimes is the the little things that years of experience training folks in person and online can teach you. Something as simple as holding the last rep of your bench can make or break your mindset on a PR or if you get that third attempt bench at a meet.

Everyone loves to bench. This cue teaches leg drive quickly and efficiently, giving you the idea of the direction of force and how much tension you really need to create and hold in your body, to be stable for a big bench. And who doesn’t want a big bench?
Try it out next time you are benching and let us know how it felt to really get the most out of your lower body when doing your favorite upper body exercise.

What is the TPS Method?

The TPS Method is the most complete online strength training resource available, and it is getting better and bigger every day.

The TPS Method is founded off of Murph’s almost 30 years experience as a coach. He and his team have assembled a done for you system of training that includes: programs (workouts), technical instruction on how to do the lifts, seminars on all sorts of topics related to strength, health and fitness, and LIVE coaching via video posts.

Our strength training and fitness programs are scaled for beginners to expert levels and are all labelled so you know that you are using the correct ones for your fitness capabilities.
