Thank you for your understanding this past week as Dr. Brock and her husband, Troy, traveled to Louisiana to say their final goodbyes to Troy’s father. We are working diligently to answer all messages received in the past week.

🍁Same tree, different seasons.🌿
This is why I chose the tree as the symbol for my clinic. We go through so many different seasons of life. We can bend with the wind and be cut down and keep growing when the season changes. If you’re going through a rough “winter” - know that your “Spring is Coming”!!!

💔September is Addiction Awareness Month❤️‍🩹
I think one of the biggest misconceptions about addiction is that the addict is actively making a choice to stay addicted. Yes, when initially trying a substance, that is a choice. But if you’re the 10-20% that happen to have your switch flipped- there is a point where your brain is telling you that you will die without the substance. Thoughts of getting the substance truly hijack your body and it turns into your #1 priority. It’s not as simple as “just deciding to quit”. If that were the case, there wouldn’t be addiction. No one grows up thinking, “One day I want to be an alcoholic (or other substance)!!!” Addiction is a family disease. It affects everyone.
I ask that you have firm boundaries with the addicted person you know but also compassion. Judgement and hate are not helpful. And be careful when you judge- you’d be surprised by how quickly you can be in their shoes!

About Us

At Allen Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, we believe that better health leads to better performance — in sports and in life. When everyday pain limits you from doing what you love, you want relief from a source you can trust. We are helping lead the way in caring for active lifestyle and sports-related injuries in North Texas.

Keeping you on the go is our goal. That’s why Dr. Jana Brock, Dr. Andrew Parker and their team offer a wide range of preventive medicine, joint health and wellness-based services in addition to sports medicine and concussion management.

Dr. Brock is a primary care sports medicine physician, and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School-Houston, and gained specialized fellowship training in sports medicine from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. She is currently the team physician for FC Dallas Major league soccer, as well as concussion oversight committee physician for McKinney IDS, Frisco ISD, Melissa ISD, and Farmersville ISD. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys being active, dancing, reading, and spending time with her family.
