Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a firefighter in our local community. We extend our deepest sympathies to the agency, their family, friends, and brothers and sisters in uniform. This is a painful reminder that behind the uniforms, gear, and brave faces are human beings carrying weight that most never see.

To everyone serving in EMS, fire, and public safety: you are not alone. If you’re hurting, please reach out to a peer, a friend, a chaplain, a therapist, or a helpline. Don’t carry the burden in silence.

Rest easy, brother. We've got it from here.

Waynesboro First Aid Crew would like to extend their deepest heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends, and law enforcement family of retired Sheriff Joe Harris, Sr. from Waynesboro City Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Harris thank you for your many years of outstanding and unselfish community service to the City of Waynesboro. WFAC will keep Sheriff Harris’ family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. ❤️🙏🏻 Sheriff Harris may you rest in eternal peace. 💙🖤💙

The Waynesboro Sheriff's Office mourns the loss of retired Sheriff Joe Harris Sr. We extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. We are deeply saddened by the news of his passing, but we take comfort in the profound impact he had on the lives of so many.
Sheriff Harris's remarkable service as Sheriff from 1974 to 2000 is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the citizens of Waynesboro. He was a highly esteemed figure in the courthouse and office, and was respected by his colleagues for his exemplary leadership. His legacy continues to inspire and guide us in our commitment to serving the community. Funeral arrangements are unknown at this time.
