🐾 Honoring & Remembering Cleo this National Dog Day 🐾
Today, on National Dog Day, we celebrate the loyal companions who bring joy, comfort, and healing into our lives. One very special dog who embodied all of this and more was Cleo, beloved companion of Jude, one of our nurses at our Hospice House at Huguley.
Cleo was more than a pet - she was a therapy dog who stood faithfully by Jude’s side through nursing school and later shared her gentle presence with so many of our patients, their families, and our staff. Her calm spirit and loving heart left an imprint that will not be forgotten.
Earlier this month, Cleo passed away, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of comfort and compassion. Today, we honor her life, her service, and the love she gave so freely.
Our hearts are with Jude, her wife, and all those who were touched by Cleo's life. ❤️🐾

🎥 If you’ve ever called us about starting hospice care, there’s a good chance the first person you spoke with was Emily Terrel.
As our Intake Coordinator, Emily’s heart is focused on one thing - helping families feel peace and comfort during an incredibly difficult time. 💙
She’s the calm voice, the listening ear, and the gentle guide for so many who put their trust in us. We’re so grateful for the compassion she shares every single day.

📸 We close our World Photography Day series with a powerful image captured by the spouse of one of our patients.
In this tender moment, RN Case Manager Alison sits at the bedside, holding her patient’s hand. Sometimes compassion can’t be described - it can only be seen.
At Community Healthcare of Texas, it’s moments like these that remind us what hospice is truly about - being present, offering comfort, and walking alongside patients and families with love and care. 💙

📸 Not every patient visit looks the same - sometimes you’re greeted by a very protective peacock!
For our next World Photography Day post, our Social Worker Taryn and RN Case Manager Alison captured this moment when a feathered “security guard” first perched on the roof and then stood watch at the door.
Thankfully, they made it in to see their patient and walked away with a story (and photos) to remember. 💙

📸 Our next World Photography Day spotlight shows a behind-the-scenes moment with RN Case Manager Kurt and Patient Care Manager Paulette.
Meetings like this happen every day across Community Healthcare of Texas as our teams come together to review care plans. Each conversation centers on one thing - how to best meet the unique needs of every patient and family we serve.
Because to us, compassionate care isn’t “one size fits all.” It’s personal, individualized, and always focused on what matters most to our patients. 💙

📸 For our next World Photography Day highlight, we’re sharing a few unforgettable moments made possible by our Community Liaison, Hannah Polk.
When one of our patients at Groesbeck LTC Nursing & Rehab wished for a special visit, Hannah made it happen—by bringing horses right to the facility!
The smiles, laughter, and pure awe on the faces of our patient and their friends that day remind us why we do what we do. Compassionate care isn’t just about medical support - it’s about creating joy, connection, and memories that matter. 💙
