Morning Routine Tips for Optimal Nervous System Function 🌟

How you start your day sets the tone for everything that follows. A balanced, thriving nervous system begins with mindful morning habits that promote calm, clarity, and energy.

Here are 5 simple tips to help you kickstart your day and support your nervous system:

1️⃣ Hydrate Right Away

Your nervous system depends on proper hydration to function. After a night of rest, your body needs water to replenish and rehydrate. Start your day with a glass of water (add a squeeze of lemon for an extra boost!) before reaching for coffee.

2️⃣ Move Your Body

Whether it’s stretching, yoga, or a brisk walk, gentle morning movement activates your parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest and digest” mode) and gets your blood flowing. Movement also releases endorphins, helping you feel more focused and energized.

3️⃣ Skip the Phone

Avoid diving into emails, texts, or social media first thing. Give your brain a chance to wake up naturally without the added stress of notifications. Start with something calming instead, like journaling or meditation.

Holiday Travel Tips ♥️✈️

It’s the holiday season, and that means - family time, festive fun, and travel! While you embrace this special time of the year, it’s also important to take some proactive steps to ensure your family stays healthy through all the holiday food, busy schedules, crowds, and later nights. Here are some simple holiday travel tips:

✨ Schedule your chiropractic visits for before AND after your trip: Adjustments before and after travel helps support your body through not only the physical demands of traveling (flights, hotel beds, car rides, air mattresses 😜), but will also help regulate your nervous system, allowing your immune system and all your other body systems to operate at their best.

🥧 Indulge in the holiday drinks, gravies, and pies, but also sprinkle in vegetables and plenty of water: No one is asking you to ditch your pumpkin spice latte, skip pouring your favorite gravy over a mound of mashed potatoes, or turn down your aunt’s famous pecan pie. Just ensure that you’re adding a veggie to your plate most meals and drink plenty of water for optimal hydration + detoxification!

👟 Enjoy the hustle and bustle, but try to keep some consistency with movement and rest: One of the best things about the holiday season is being busy with seeing friends and family, holiday activities, shopping, and more!
