I recently had the opportunity to guest host an episode of The Trauma Therapist Project, where I sat down with for a rich and nuanced conversation about trauma, healing, and the many ways our stories shape us.

Lauren Auer is a licensed trauma therapist, educator, and founder of the Center for Embodied Healing. She has dedicated her work to making complex trauma concepts more accessible, compassionate, and deeply human. In this conversation, we explored how trauma can shape the nervous system, relationships, identity, and the ways we move through the world.

We discussed why trauma healing is never one size fits all, the importance of individualized and embodied approaches, and how true healing often begins when we move beyond pathology and toward curiosity, compassion, and connection. Lauren shared profound insights on the role of safety, attunement, and relational healing in the therapeutic process.

These are the conversations that continue to inspire my work as a therapist. They remind me that healing happens in relationships, in safety, and in the spaces where people feel fully seen.
I hope this conversation offers insight, validation, and encouragement for both clinicians and anyone on their own healing journey.

I recently had the opportunity to guest-host an episode of The Trauma Therapist Podcast and interview Robert C. Bransfield about the mental health impacts of Lyme disease and complex chronic illness. The Trauma Therapist Project
As many of you know, this is a topic that is both personal and central to my clinical work. We discuss how tick-borne illness can affect the brain and nervous system, and why trauma-informed and integrative approaches are so important for healing. ()
Conversations like this help bridge the gap between physical and mental health and support a more holistic understanding of chronic illness.

As someone who is both neurodivergent and a therapist, I have lived the complexity of navigating a world that is not always built for the way my brain works. The masking, the overstimulation, the deep feeling, the pattern recognition, all of it has shaped not only who I am, but how I show up for others.

Neurodivergence is not a flaw. It is a different operating system, and it deserves understanding, not correction.

If you are neurodivergent, your needs are valid. Your pace is valid. The way you experience the world is valid 🌈

And if you love someone who is, lead with curiosity, not assumptions.

PSA ✨

Chronic illness is deeply isolating.

Invite your chronic illness friends out.

Not once they are “better.”
Not when it is convenient.
Not when it looks like they have more energy.

Now.

Even if we say no numerous times, let us decide.

Keep including us in the plans.
Offer options and flexibility.
Leave room for a yes, even if it is not today.

Connection is medicine for all of us.

A simple invite can mean everything❤️

I had the honor of guest-hosting an episode of , where I interviewed about trauma, healing, and the work therapists do to support deep transformation.
In this conversation, we explored what it really means to hold space for trauma recovery, the importance of embodied healing, and how clinicians can stay grounded while supporting others through complex experiences.
Grateful to Dani Fagan for such an insightful conversation and to The Trauma Therapist Podcast community for the opportunity to be part of this series.

Happy Belated Women’s Day 💐👑 To the queens / Rainhas in my life…

From my ancestors to my family, friends, colleagues, clients, and this community. I am just a fragment without your existence. You are my healers, my teachers, my sisters, my expanders. True goddesses. Thank you.

Women are the ultimate creators and bearers. From families and communities to grief, healing, and hope. I know many of us are tired, sick, and burnt out from the constant emotional and energetic labor this requires. It is never enough for us to be celebrated for just a day or two. We also need support, resources, partnership, and acknowledgment in the everyday. Let us hope and pray that the collective masculine steps in more, while we honor those who already do (thank you, we see you, we thank you.).

The world needs our energy and medicine more than ever. May we continue to gather, uplift one another, and share our wisdom.

Thank you for being here. Love you.
