Make sure you empty any standing water from pool covers, toys, garden equipment and clogged gutters. Remove old tires and trash from your property and check tree holes and tree stumps for standing water.

The most effective way to prevent mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile and La Crosse is to prevent being bitten by mosquitoes.
• Wear light-colored clothing, long-sleeved shirts or jackets, and long pants.
• Apply repellents on exposed skin that are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Consider avoiding outdoor activities during peak mosquito biting hours.
