Equinox Equestrian Services, LLC is closing.

I've thought a lot about this decision and it's been very difficult. This is my little baby business.

But the truth is, I'm in my fourth year of a doctoral program, starting on an internship, and beginning the process of taking clients in psychotherapy.

As much as I love coaching and believe in the importance of somatic work and equine-facilitated education, this is not where my focus, attention, and heart is at right now, and for the foreseeable future.

I have three years of work left (at a minimum) to become licensed as a psychotherapist.

When that happens, I will delve back into this magical world of horses healing humans and see if it's the right time and the right fit for what I have to offer.

For now - it's not goodbye forever. Just for today.

Thanks for all the support and love. 💙

Feeling optimistic. 🧚‍♀️

I'm continuing to take things off my list and out of my calendar. 🚫

This week I sat down and looked at my year-long goals and tasks board, and got clear about what I really care about accomplishing and what can wait.

I TOOK 18 ITEMS OFF MY LIST, Y'ALL 🙌

The result? I've been in a good mood for days now. 😁

I don't think it's a coincidence. ✨️

Do you need help figuring out what to keep and what to let go?

I'm taking a real break in May (something I haven't done since starting grad school) but I've decided to open 3 spots in June for new clients. 🐞

Depending on how I feel, these might be the only slots I open all year for new peeps.

I'm committed to creating spaciousness in my life. 🌸

I can help you do the same. 🌱

As the wheel turns...

The older I get, the more I see a need for the ritualization of our experience.

Particularly here, in the United States, where so many of us are from elsewhere, there's a prevailing longing and loneliness in our cultural narrative.

Technology develops faster than culture, and culture faster than evolution.

At the heart of it, we are still animals, with the innate rituals of the earth in our sinew and bone.

The osprey came back to their summer nest this week.

They are the true harbinger of spring.

Mark the days.

Blessed Equinox! 🌗

⏱️ON HIATUS ⏱️

As many of you know, I am a doctoral student in psychology.

As I enter the 3rd year of coursework, the complexity and workload is increasing. 📚

Some of you listen to my podcast, , and know that this is my year of saying no.

As an act of self-respect, I'm not taking on any new clients until the quarter is completed.

I will still be researching and interviewing for the podcast, and I will still be working on new offerings.

Peace. 🦋

Rainclouds at The Sanctuary. 🌧

Such a beautiful space for horses and humans.

The creek is rushing and the ground is sodden.

The mud is deep and the horses are stoic.

Patience is the only possibility.

You can have, be, or do anything you want - but not all at the same time.⏳️

I've been thinking about this a lot lately as I learn how to wean myself off of FOMO as a motivation for life.

Coming to terms with making choices means recognizing that not all of my dreams will come true.

Often we attach a lot of external trappings to our dreams, so that we identify them by how they look. 🏖

We have an image in our minds of what that dream IS.

If we step back from the image and dive down into the depths of ourselves, we can find out more useful information: How that dream makes us feel, the embodied sense of the dream at our very heart.

This feel can guide us to other versions of the dream that we can, in fact, have in tandem with our current life.🌈

The next time you are daydreaming about some future experience, ask yourself: What is at the heart of this dream?

You might be surprised at how much closer it is. ✨️

Unusually cold weather this week.🌬

I'm really hoping this helps our snow pack, because I'm not a fan.

C'est la guerre. 🤷‍♀️

Have you ever tried mirror work?

I have been really struggling with self-image issues lately.

Part of it is trying to be really available and forward-facing in media as the face of my business.

I've seen more representations of my face and body in the last 90 days than in probably the last 3 years.

And, if I'm being honest, I'll admit I don't like what I see.

One practice to counteract the negative self-messaging is mirror work.

You can write on the mirror as a reminder every time you look at yourself (this message came to me via ) but the actual core work is to look into your own eyes...

and say, "I love you."

You might find it surprisingly challenging.

There are lots of other good things you can say to yourself, like "I'm proud of you," and "You're doing a good job," and some things that might be unique to you and what you need to hear.

Drop a ❤️ if you could use hearing something nice about yourself today. Drop ❤️❤️ if you're gonna be the one to say it.
