1st Footing Art is always a pleasure. We got to share our project this time with 3 lovely people from St. John’s who joined us. As Picasso said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” It is an honor to get to watch this happen every Thursday.

At 1st Footing, we painted more rocks to contribute to the Choosing Kindness project. So very needed in our world today…spread small acts and words of encouragement wherever and however you can each and every day. We’re in this together!

As our area and neighbors in surrounding counties are still dealing with the tragic floods, clean up and recovery efforts, we want you to know that there is mental health support for all.

Today at 3pm, we will be hosting a virtual support group for the mental health caregivers who have been working and / or volunteering at different sites.

☺️ 💜River City Advocacy is Choosing Kindness!

We’re excited to be part of The McKenna Foundation’s Choosing Kindness campaign by painting and hiding kindness rocks around New Braunfels! Each rock is a little burst of color and positivity, meant to brighten someone’s day and remind our community that joy can be found in the simplest places.

Why does this matter? Because acts of kindness—both big and small—are powerful for our mental health. When we spread joy to others, we release feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, reduce stress, and build stronger connections with those around us. Even a smile or a small surprise like a painted rock can make a real difference in someone’s day. 💚

So keep an eye out for our kindness rocks around town, and if you find one, take a picture and share it with ! Better yet—paint your own and keep the kindness going!

Let’s keep showing that a compassionate community is a healthy community. 🌈🧠✨
