Privately owned Endodontist (Root Canal Specialist) Dr. Hirschman is dedicated to the field of Endodontics and quality patient care.

Dr. Hirschman started work as an Endodontic dental assistant at the age of fourteen for his father, Dr. Louis Hirschman. Dr. Wade Hirschman is now a third generation Endodontist in his family along with his older brother, Dr. Bradley Hirschman, who currently practices in Novi, Michigan. The Hirschman family endodontic lineage started with Dr. Harold Maxmen, one of the original pioneers of Endodontics in the 1930's.

Myth! The perception of root canals as painful is a common misconception. They are primarily designed to alleviate pain! With today's technology, root canals are not any different than having a filling. There's little to no pain because local anesthesia will numb your tooth and gums so you're comfortable during the procedure.

Our Story

Dr. Wade R. Hirschman completed his predental education and BS in Zoology at Michigan State University. He then received his DDS degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2007. Dr. Hirschman completed a one year general practice residency at Denver Health and was in private practice for another year before returning to the University of Detroit-Mercy graduate school. In the summer of 2011 he completed his specialty training in Endodontics and received a MS degree. . Dr. Hirschman started work as an Endodontic dental assistant at the age of fifteen for his father, Dr. Louis Hirschman. He developed an early interest in the dental field as a teenager and decided that dentistry would be his goal in his professional life. After performing numerous root canals in dental school and residency, he discovered his love for root canal therapy and decided to pursue a goal in becoming an Endodontist. Dr. Wade Hirschman is now a third generation Endodontist in his family along with his older brother, Dr. Bradley Hirschman (Advanced Endodontics), who currently practices in Novi, Michigan. The Hirschman family endodontic lineage started with Dr. Harold Maxmen, his great uncle who received his dental license in the 2nd graduated class of the University of Detroit Dental School in 1936 and was the first in the state of Michigan to limit his practice to Endodontics in 1939. Endodontics was not recognized as a dental specialty until 1963. Throughout the years, Dr. Wade Hirschman has gained extensive General Dentistry and Endodontic experience and has pursued graduate research and residency training. His research on the Cytotoxicity Comparison of Three Current Direct Pulp-capping Agents with a New Bioceramic Root Repair Putty has been published in the Journal of Endodontics. This broad base of knowledge equips him with a unique understanding of current medical conditions of his patients, enabling him to provide thorough Endodontic therapy. Dr. Hirschman is dedicated to the field of Endodontics and quality patient care.
