IMMUNITY
If you’ve been anywhere out in public you are likely, acutely aware of the sniffling, coughing, and throat clearing happening uncomfortably close and all too frequently around you.
We can wash our hands and cross our fingers or better – place a priority on improving our immunity through exercise and encouraging those around us to do the same.
🔹 Exercise at even modest levels can “improve your immune response, lower illness risk, and reduce inflammation” according to the Journal of Sport and Health Science. The benefits of exercise reach well beyond the exerciser in that healthier people tend to feel better. And feeling well (vs unwell) impacts how we treat each other and ourselves, improves productivity and focus, reduces sick time off work, and gives us more energy to do more of what we love!
Here are a few examples of great ways to start. Let's do this!
1. HIIT workouts and Circuit Training improve oxygen and blood flow in the body
2. Boxing – because in addition to the triple threat of viruses floating about there is also a fair amount of stress often made better by 🥊 🥊
3. Group Exercise – helps with all of the above and builds community, one of the top reasons people go into the gym, which also improves accountability!
4. Grab a friend and go for a walk, jog, run, ride
5. Pickle Ball 😊
🔹Wishing you and all those around you joy, good health, happiness and a stronger immune system in the new year.
