I'm sorry to have to announce that I am closed for a while.
I had to go out of town to deal with family issues but now that I am here, it looks like I'm rowing in the boat by myself so it's going to be longer than I expected.

In case you missed my previous post, Dan's Sharpening Services will discontinue business on October 1, 2025. It has been my pleasure to serve you in your sharpening needs all these years. I have been blessed to have received items to sharpen from as close as across the street and from as far away as Hawaii.

All inventory must be sold before the door close. Listed here for sale are groomer and stylist shears at nearly 50% off MSRP. No photos but I have Double K dryers at 50% off MSRP. 2000XL variable speed with Airgonomic nozzle was $294 now $147. Airmax variable speed was $400 now $200. 560 cage dryer (has heating element) was $462 now $231.

Clippers, clipper parts, trimmers, and dryer parts are also 50% off while supplies last. Other notable items for sale are clipper blade storage boxes, pocket knives, and hoof knives.

Once the doors close on October 1, 2025, I will begin to sell all sharpening equipment. If you think you might be interested in learning the trade of sharpening, give me a call. Equipment prices will not include training.

To all my valued customers over the years.
I knew the time would eventually come but now the reality has hit home.
This will be the last summer for Dan's Sharpening Services. I can't say thank you enough to all of you who have entrusted your tools and equipment to my care. I will value that forever.

At the end of the summer I will close up the Sharpening Shop for good and sell off my sharpening equipment, inventory, and parts which I will post here first before selling in the sharpening market. I am giving notice now so you can begin to transition to a different sharpener. Should you desire references, please contact me. I will open for business in a couple more weeks.

The dropbox is out, the lights are on, and the missing clipper blade sharpening wheel finally arrived. Open for business.

So I took a couple weeks off and thought I would take advantage of the down time to send in my primary 24 inch clipper blade sharpening wheel for resurfacing. I included a postage paid USPS return address label with the wheel. The work was completed within one week and I was notified my wheel was taken to the drop off facility. My return label was priority 3 day mail. After 3 days I checked my tracking number and was surprised to learn USPS had not received the package (more like a 60 pound 30 inch square box). So, I called the place where I got the work done and they said, "OH, that was a USPS label? We took it to UPS." Thankfully, I still have (and occasionally use) my original clipper blade wheel so it will not affect blade sharpening. I'm still shaking my head at this blunder. The box had "priority mail" written all over it.
