Menopause is often talked about in terms of physical symptoms...but the mental health impact matters just as much. Hormonal changes during menopause can affect brain chemistry, which may lead to mood swings, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, or “brain fog.”
For many women, this stage of life also overlaps with major transitions, changing careers, caregiving for aging parents, or children leaving home, which can add emotional stress.
The good news: support helps. Talking with healthcare providers, prioritizing sleep, staying active, connecting with others, and seeking counseling when needed can make a meaningful difference.
This Women’s History Month, let’s help break the stigma and normalize conversations about menopause and mental health. Women deserve understanding, support, and care at every stage of life. 💜
