This month, we’re highlighting Jaison Jensen, Program Manager of our Youth Residential Program!

Jaison first joined Odyssey House in 2019 as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in our Adult Residential Program and later advanced to BHT Supervisor. After stepping away for a time, Jaison returned in March 2024 and began his current role as Program Manager of the Youth Residential Program.

In his day-to-day work, Jaison manages the administrative side of the program, including budgeting, staffing and scheduling, and overseeing countless logistical details, from coordinating youth appointments to ensuring the daily operations run seamlessly. He also facilitates groups and keeps the overall program environment positive and productive. As Jaison puts it, “I’m the problem solver guy.”

Currently, Jaison is pursuing his Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Utah, with plans to earn his MSW and continue building a career in mental health care.

“It’s very rewarding and fulfilling [to be involved in the process of helping these kids] … It’s cool to be able to share my experience and meet the kids where they’re at, because when I was their age I didn’t know treatment existed – I just did whatever – so it’s nice to play a role in helping them learn new things and realize they don’t have to continue to live how they’re living; they can have an enjoyable life, where they get to work hard and achieve things. So, it’s very rewarding and it makes the tough days palatable and doable.”

Thank you, Jaison, for inspiring these youth through your guidance and care! The positive influence you have on them will be felt for years to come.

CAJUN GUESTS VISIT ODYSSEY HOUSE UTAH

We were honored to host the leaders from Odyssey House Louisiana for a tour of our facilities. We may not be connected in a corporate sense, but we are definitely connected in our mission of dealing with behavioral health issues like substance use and mental health. Our guests visited a number of our facilities and had a great exchange on treatment methods with Odyssey House Utah President and CEO Adam Cohen and Vice President of Operations Kali Mower.
