Hello lovelies. I've taken the year off from supervising, teaching or any other offerings to renovate a home and retreat space.

I'm heading softly back into offerings with my dear friend James Martin. We'll be hosting free monthly meditations that incorporate somatic, nondual IFS, authentic relating, animism, mysticism and other wisdom traditions. I’ll also be offering some additional events at European friendly times so stay tuned

It is a hard day to be a citizen of the US.
I wonder if this is what it is like to feel like the family member of a mass shooter.
To love the country that is the root of so much harm.
and to feel the burden of a kind of responsibility in this connection.
But,
I could not stop this,
It was always bigger than me.

I feel my smallness now.
I know it will not serve me to stay small forever.
But,
I am old.
I don’t have the stamina of my 20-year-old-self.
And I am afraid,
for myself and my future,
for my darker skinned family,
for this amazing, beautiful planet
and all its innocent creatures
which will sure surely suffer the consequences of this outcome
as it always has.
But this…
I cannot yet entirely wrap my head around this.
How have we consented to this?

But wrap my head around it I must.
This, this first step.
To grieve, to howl,
and then, to accept the reality of what is.

I want to apologize to the world.
To the rivers and the trees.
and the animals,
to all the others who will suffer from this,
It was not my choice and yet…
The Hoʻoponopono plays over in my head:

IFS is such a beautiful psychospiritual practice for full attendance and healing - even in transitions out of this physical incarnation. Here Dick Schwartz offers a final session to Derek Scott. Tender, painful, beautiful, sweet, and all the things. So much gratitude for those, like Derek, willing to reveal their raw humanity and to normalize this understanding of death as a normal process of life. Don’t watch this if you don’t want to be moved.

For those of you who follow and engaged Christianity path....I came across this again and had the thought that had I been introduced to this kind of relationship with the Divine, I would have had a lot less clean up to do...

A Blessing for Beauty

May the beauty of your life become more visible to you, that you may glimpse your wild divinity.

May the wonders of the earth call you forth from all your small, secret prisons and set your feet free in the pastures of possibilities.

May the light of dawn anoint your eyes that you may behold what a miracle a day is.

May the liturgy of twilight shelter all your fears and darkness within the circle of ease.

May the angel of memory surprise you in bleak times with new gifts from the harvest of your vanished days.

May you allow no dark hand to quench the candle of hope in your heart.

May you discover a new generosity towards yourself, and encourage yourself to engage your life as a great adventure.

May the outside voices of fear and despair find no echo in you.

May you always trust the urgency and wisdom of your own spirit.

May the shelter and nourishment of all the good you have done, the love you have shown, the suffering you have carried, awaken around you to bless your life a thousand times.

And when love finds the path to your door may you open like the earth to the dawn, and trust your every hidden color towards its nourishment of light.

May you find enough stillness and silence to savor the kiss of God on your soul and delight in the eternity that shaped you, that holds you and calls you.

And may you know that despite confusion, anxiety and emptiness, your name is written in Heaven.

And may you come to see your life as a quiet sacrament of service, which awakens around you a rhythm where doubt gives way to the grace of wonder, where what is awkward and strained can find elegance, and where crippled hope can find wings, and torment enter at last unto the grace of serenity.

Okay, my psychology peeps, rattle off what you think are the critical contributions to the field of psychotherapy - for example, polyvagal theory, attachment theory, transference/countertransference, multiplicity, etc. think broad rather than detailed, original rather than supplemental (EG. IFS vs Somatic IFS). Bring it! (Yes I’m totally using you for a book I’m writing and trying to see if I missed anything critical)
