🎖️ Joseph Camera, one of our Veteran Community Liaisons, went from selling tech and meeting quotas to using that same technology for something far more meaningful.

Today, Joseph, the son of a retired Navy Captain, uses tools like Salesforce (which he used to sell), not to fund his addiction (which he used to do), but to guide veterans toward hope and healing through addiction treatment. 🇺🇸

In his clip from "My Recovery Story," Joseph talks about how incredibly rewarding he finds serving a population that’s gone through so much—PTSD, trauma, addiction—and knowing that he's making a real difference.

🚫 Myth: You have to “hit rock bottom” before getting help.
✅ Truth: You can reach out long before things fall apart.

Ari Chelli, Clinical Director at Desert Hope Treatment Center, explains that rock bottom looks different for everyone. It’s not necessarily about being at your lowest point. Instead, it’s recognizing when substance use takes priority over everything else—your family, your job, and your health.

The sooner you reach out, the sooner you can receive the support and resources available to you.

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to wait. Help is here.

In this clip from Addiction Talk, Art Dielhenn opens up about how his addiction started with behavior: using control, routine, and achievement to hide his drinking — even from himself.

Many people use behaviors to manage or mask addiction, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Recovery starts with honesty. And it starts here. 💙

Avoiding getting help because you're worried about your job? You're not alone, but you're also not without options.

For many, preparing for addiction treatment includes navigating job-related concerns. Here are 3 key employment tips to help you feel more confident and supported as you take this important step:

1️⃣ Know your rights. You may be protected under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

💛 “I’m the only person I’ll live with for the rest of my life, so I have to
matter to me.”

In this reflection, former Desert Hope patient Marissa shares how recovery gave her the space to look inward, rediscover her worth, and build the
self-love and self-respect she’d been missing.

🎥 The Heart Behind the Healing Meals 💛

Chef Willie isn’t just cooking, he’s creating comfort, connection, and care!

After years in the restaurant business, he knows how hard it is to make everyone happy. But here at Desert Hope, he’s found a way to blend hospitality with healing. From an open-door policy to personalized meals, Chef Willie listens, adapts, and puts heart onto every plate.

Because in recovery, food is part of the whole person care. When clients are smiling, talking, and feeling seen at the table, that’s when Chef Willie knows he’s done his job. 🍽️✨

📍 Recovery is personal, and so is our food.
