“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll never succeed.”
Thoughts like these feel true when confidence is low—and that emotional charge gives them power. But they’re often just echoes of fear, not fact.

In his new piece, How Low Confidence Shows Up in Our Mental Health, therapist Scott Meyer, LPC, explores how low self-confidence quietly shapes our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and how to gently unhook from the patterns that keep us stuck.

From CBT to ACT to strengths-based therapy, Scott outlines practical, compassionate tools that help us shift from self-doubt to self-trust.

🛌 Rest is not a luxury. It’s a vital part of emotional and physical health—and one we’re often taught to overlook.

At Wildflower, we hear it all the time: “I can’t fall asleep,” or “I wake up feeling more tired than when I went to bed.” Poor sleep isn’t just frustrating—it’s often deeply tied to mental health, burnout, and a culture that equates worth with productivity.

In her latest article, therapist Natalie Hall explores why sleep hygiene matters, how our thoughts and environments impact rest, and what small, therapist-backed changes can help break the cycle of exhaustion.

If you’re ready to rethink rest as a form of self-respect—not laziness—this one’s for you.

A moment of reflection on what’s at stake for maternal mental health. 💛

On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law. While the legislation addresses many areas of tax and federal spending, one of the most significant changes includes a proposed reduction in Medicaid funding over the next decade.

Medicaid plays a crucial role in supporting maternal health in the United States — covering 42% of all births nationwide, 60% of births to women of color, and 50% of births in rural communities. It also supports extended postpartum care in 48 states, which has been a vital step forward in addressing maternal mortality and improving access to mental health services during the year after birth.

As changes to Medicaid unfold, there is concern that access to these essential services — including maternal mental health screening, treatment, and community-based supports like doulas and home visitors — may be at risk. These services are not only life-changing, they are often life-saving.

At Wildflower, we see the profound difference that accessible, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive perinatal mental health care makes — for individuals, families, and communities.

We remain steadfast in our belief that mental health care is health care, and we will continue to advocate for a system that centers equity, compassion, and the wellbeing of all who give birth.

Perimenopause is more than hot flashes and skipped periods — it’s a complex, powerful (and often misunderstood) chapter in many people's lives.

In our latest article, Wildflower's Executive Director Kate Ernstrom, LCSW, PMH-C, CST, breaks down the myths that keep us confused, unsupported, and under-informed.

✨ Think perimenopause only happens in your 50s?
✨ That it’s a short phase?
✨ That mood swings or changes in s*xual health have nothing to do with hormones?

Let’s rethink that. And let’s make space for curiosity, compassion, and real conversations about this stage of life.
