Deck and Daughter Deck and Daughter features experiences, knowledge, and readings by a seasoned witch and card slinger You’ll likely see ideas related to that on my page as well!

I’ve been reading the Tarot for over 15 years and pride myself in a down-to-earth therapeutic approach. I want the cards to speak to you directly as much as possible rather than layering them behind mysterious and vague language. I’m also a mom of a wee witch that has me exploring combining divination and witchcraft with early education (we homeschool!). There are two sides to every coin, hence why Charon the ferryman doesn’t take bills.

A belated joining in for this month! I stacked my two days up in this post.

First pic is my physical TBR shelves. All awaiting my vibe check to align so that they might be selected 🤔😂

Second is the (belated) Pride stack! So many favorites but also two new ones I haven’t read…yet! But soon!

On International Women’s Day I thought I’d share some of my favorites from my bookshelf that aren’t written by men. I have four longtime favorites and four new favorites!
I then realized how much I limited myself by only using books I own physically so I added a slide with beloved favorites that I don’t own a physical copy of but love just as much!!📖📚

And of course, because of this account also adoring card decks, I had to include some favorite femme/women focused decks in my collection. 🎴

I’ve had a this charm bracelet since high school (the bottom one). The charms have changed or been added over the last couple decades and I’ve gone years with it buried in a jewelry box or forgotten in the bottom of a purse. But never lost. After I had my kiddo, I got compulsive about wearing it again. And she became enamored with it.

This year she’s 7 and finally expressed interest in wearing her own jewelry. So for Yule/Xmas I decided to make her a charm bracelet! The trickiest part was finding a chain both small/light yet sturdy enough for her little kiddo wrist but I managed! I had fun picking out charms that made me think of her or people closest to her (I have a lot of charms on mine that represent others and she likes that). I presented options to her when she opened the wrapped box and then attached the ones she selected!
She had a blast and I’m tickled she liked it so much ☺️ My mommy heart is happy building memories like these that connect us.

New month of bookssssss. I have not learned any lessons after finishing 31 books for the month of October but I do think I will finish a little less this month 👀😂
First picture is my planned hopefuls for the month, second picture is my physical stack I’m working my way through, and the last pic is my favorites from the daunting 31 books I finished in October!

[Image ID: scattered cards on a pink blanket. The cards are a black and white illustrated design similar to newspaper comics with sassy art and heartfelt sayings like “bring your own seat to the table”, “absolutely not”, or “what is chaos to the fly is harmony to the spider”. They are from two decks: Visions in the Liminal Space and Postcards from the Liminal Space. In the center of the cards is a sticker that says “Oh(I)o Voted” on the image of the state of Ohio.]

A new chapter begins! A fresh introduction to go with it!

I’m Kendra, a daughter (the one on the left in the second picture), mother, spouse, friend, witch, and card slinger/reader.

I have a wee witch daughter of my own who loves to explore many things; especially nature, witchery, cards, books, animals, games, dancing, ribbons and so much more.

I ran a lil budding business called Stygian Tarot for the past decade or so doing readings at fairs, festival, and events and for personal clients.

I’ve never really delved much into online reading professionally, mostly due to how my brain works. I’m not sure if that will change. We’ll see!

This past year or two has had a lot of things change in my life and I finally feel ready to funnel it into a new “public persona”, so to speak.

Based on my compulsive deck collecting and my relationship with my mother and my daughter, I chose the new name Deck and Daughter. It encompasses where I am now!

Hello again (or for the first time!). Nice to see you! Planning to be more active and focused going forward!

[Image ID 1: a scattered collection of Tarot and Oracle decks on a fluffy white floor mat. A white child’s arms and leg are extended to frame the collection of decks.]

[Image ID 2: Two white women stand back to back with their arms playfully crossed, smiling at the camera. They are a mother and daughter. The woman on left is younger, in her 20s with long dark brown hair. The woman on the right is older, in her 40s, with short dark brown hair and wearing glasses. They are standing in front of a wrought iron gate.]
