are one of my favorite species of snake. Their hiss can be pretty confusing for some folks but like all snakes, they just want to be left alone. You really should feel lucky if have one of these guys around because they’ll make a huge dent in the rodent population that could/would also attract rattlesnakes, they don’t often make a meal of a rattlesnake but they’ll sure take away their food

Notice how terrifying and aggressive this Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is…..🙄***NOT suggesting you go knowingly pop a squat next to one but if ya did unknowingly, the chances of it coming to get you are 0%…YOU have to encroach on them to get bit, it’s not the other way around….ever.

Inspection/Removal in Jonestown, Tx this morning. After passing her by a few times I asked the homeowner to come down and try to find her stating she was within 5’ of him. He looked for several minutes and couldn’t find her. I’ve said it 100 times but I’ll say it again. Rattlesnakes don’t rattle as much as we wish they did and they never have, which is why they’re still around today….and no it’s not because they’ve evolved due to the mass amounts of pigs that will find them and eat them 🙄. There are several animals that will make a meal out of a snake. A rattlesnake’s first line of defense is camouflage and you can clearly see why.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING:

Is the snake in my yard harmless? If so, leave it alone. It will leave on its own.

Is a snake in my yard really the best free rodent control anywhere? YES!

Is he in my yard or am I in his? His peeps were probably here long before yours.

Is my yard a place where rodents feel at home? If so, it's time to clean things up. Otherwise, you're welcoming snakes by providing them with a free buffet.

Is there any reason why you can't co-exist peaceably? He's just trying to help you with your rodent problem. You should thank him. Ask yourself, "Why am I so afraid of snakes and what can I do about it?"

Knowledge is the best antidote for fear. Make time to learn more about snakes from a reliable source.

Do I have the number of my local snake removal specialist? Put them on speed dial if you have to.

Is it true that the only good snake is a live snake? YES!
