This week the post from my creatives at Google AdIq is about family therapy. I really like this post because it acknowledges the notion of "old wounds" experienced in the course of family life. "Old wounds" can be the effect of unresolved conflict, resentment over the course of mistakes made, perhaps confusion over impaired relationships between parents, siblings, extended family. I personally feel that the area of family life is a jigsaw puzzle we work on for our entire lives. The topic of family life, family memories, is one that folks want to talk about or they don't want to talk about. The problem however is that families provide our blue prints for how to navigate life. We either learn what we want or what we don't want mainly by family dynamics. Some times the issues presented in families become "unsolvable problems" and our task is to figure out how to live with that reality. A safe space to explore these issues is so important.
