🌟 Disability Pride Month Spotlight: Meet Our Trailblazers! 🌟

This month, we’re celebrating the power, pride, and purpose of the incredible individuals we support — like Erin and John, two CBS trailblazers leading lives full of achievement, joy, and independence.

💼 Erin thrives in her job at Materion and welcomes everyone with a smile as our receptionist — but her proudest role? Being an aunt! “It’s really great,” she says. “We watch movies and I like to be there for him.”

🐾 John brings his energy and dedication to CBS every day — working as both a receptionist and baker at Good Reasons Dog Treat Bakery. His pride? “Work,” he says. “I like making money and going on vacation!” (He’s already been to Paris, Hawaii, Jamaica and more!)

These stories are what Disability Pride Month is all about — recognizing ability, embracing identity, and celebrating each person’s right to live a full, self-directed life. 🧡💪🌈

🌿 Even with our InterArts building closed for a few days due to storm damage, the creativity and connection don’t stop!

Our CBS Without Walls participants have been soaking up the sunshine and inspiration at Cultivating Dreams Farm — enjoying Yoga, Karaoke, and Photography classes in this beautiful setting.

We’re so grateful for spaces that keep the spirit of HVIA alive, no matter where we are. 💚 We’ll be back at the InterArts Center starting Wednesday — and we can’t wait to welcome everyone home!

“We are deeply grateful for the immediate response from local first responders who secured the site and ensured safety, as well as for the ongoing support from our community and local leaders,” said Vicki Sylvester, Ph.D, CEO of CBS. “We’d especially like to thank Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne, Senator Pete Harckham, Congressman Mike Lawler, and Assemblyman Matt Slater for their outreach and steadfast commitment to our work.”

Despite the setback, CBS remains fully committed to our partnership with Putnam County. Plans were already in place to open the Early Learning Center in September 2025 within the main building which sustained no damage. Hudson Valley InterArts will resume regular classes and programming starting this week.

🌞 CBS Field Day: Friends, Food and Family! 🌞

**TAG YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY & CO-WORKERS** SHARE IT!

In May, we gathered under the sun to celebrate what makes CBS truly special—our people. From managers to DSPs, individuals we support, families, and community members, Field Day 2025 was a joyful explosion of connection and fun. 🏐🎯🏃‍♂️

There were volleyball matches, races, co****le competitions, laughter, and shared meals. It was more than just a day outdoors—it was a vibrant celebration of inclusion, joy, and community.

To everyone who came out—thank you. You helped make this day unforgettable! 💙

The Early Learning Center will cut commuting times for children, save taxpayers money, and provide peace of mind to parents of students with special needs.
