On Juneteenth, we honor the events that led to the end of slavery in the United States.

Though President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, it didn’t take effect in many regions under Confederate control until much later. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865, which officially marked the end of slavery.

General Physician, PC and Great Lakes Cardiovascular offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, to commemorate the significance of this historic day.

Juneteenth is a testament to the resilience of generations of Black Americans whose bravery, power, and optimism never withered in the face of extraordinary adversity. We provide medical care with the same principles that honor Juneteenth – we are all equal and deserve to be treated equally.
