May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Make self-care a priority and non-negotiable. Here’s a reminder of the power and importance of caring for ourselves.
Check in with your body and mind at this moment, get comfy and settle into your body. And just notice. Take 3 deep breaths slowly: inhale for a count of 6 seconds, pause for 2, and exhale for a count of 8.
Reflect mentally — ask yourself, “How do I feel?”Name that specific emotion. Where does this feeling live in your body? Take a moment to tune inward.
Check in on burnout indicators — have you felt stressed and overwhelmed lately? Reflect on how full your plate has felt. Reflect with kindness on how you’ve been honestly feeling.
Is it tough to fall asleep at night?
Have you been a little less interested in the things your care about or your usual activities?
Do you feel rested in the morning?
Mindfulness goes a long way when you choose to take care of your mental health and emotional wellness.
