Today I’ve been sitting with gratitude,

the kind that hits your chest, softens your edges, and reminds you how much can shift when you simply breathe on purpose.

I’m grateful for every moment breathwork has saved me…

For the times it pulled me out of a panic spiral.
For the clarity it gave me when life felt impossible.
For the healing it sparked when old wounds tried to take over.
For the strength it built in my nervous system when I didn’t know how to keep going.
For the way it brought me home to myself, again and again.

And most of all, I’m grateful that this work doesn’t just change my life…

It changes every life I get to touch.

There is nothing like watching someone’s shoulders drop for the first time in years.

Here’s why ⬇️

When something reminds your brain of an old hurt, like a tone of voice, a look, a situation…

your amygdala fires like it’s happening right now. It doesn’t care that you’re 25, 35, 45, or 55.
It only cares about survival.

Your prefrontal cortex (the rational, adult part of your brain) goes offline.

Your nervous system time-travels back to the age you were when the imprint formed.

That’s why you suddenly feel 8 years old again…
or 14…
or 22.
Not because you’re dramatic, but because your brain is literally running an old protective program.

Now the good news:

✨ Breathwork can interrupt and REWRITE this pattern.

When you breathe consciously:
• You activate the prefrontal cortex again
• You lower amygdala activation
• You increase CO₂ tolerance, which reduces panic + overwhelm
• You shift your body from fight/flight into safety + presence
• And most importantly…
You signal to your nervous system: “We are safe now.”

This is how breathwork helps the brain uncouple the trigger from the old trauma imprint, a process called memory reconsolidation.

🦃 Reminder for Thanksgiving:
Between family dynamics, full plates, and way too much turkey… don’t forget to breathe.

If you end up feeling stuffed, sleepy, overwhelmed, or like your nervous system is one cousin’s comment away from shutting down — try the Senobi Breath Technique.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Sit or stand tall.
2️⃣ Stretch your arms up as if you’re trying to lengthen your whole ribcage.
3️⃣ Inhale slowly as you stretch upward.
4️⃣ Hold for 2–3 seconds.
5️⃣ Exhale as you gently release the stretch.
Repeat 5–10 times.

Why it works perfectly for Thanksgiving:
✨ It opens the diaphragm and upper ribs (great after a heavy meal).
✨ It boosts energy and combats that “turkey coma.”
✨ It resets your nervous system so you can stay calm, present, and grounded — even with family around.
✨ And bonus: it helps digestion by giving your organs a little extra space.
