Two years ago, we took a meaningful step to improve dementia care, and its impact continues today! Our team became certified facilitators of the Virtual Dementia TourĀ®, an evidence-based training that helps caregivers experience what it’s like to live with dementia. Using patented sensory-altering devices, caregivers were guided through everyday tasks, giving them a firsthand look at the challenges those with dementia face daily.

This powerful training deepened our empathy and strengthened our ability to deliver compassionate, person-centered care. It's one of the many ways we remain committed to improving the lives of our clients and their families.

Alzheimer’s disease typically progresses slowly in three stages: 1. Early, 2. Middle, 3. Late

Since Alzheimer’s affects people in different ways, each person may experience dementia symptoms or progress through the stages differently.

The symptoms of Alzheimer's disease worsen over time, although the rate at which the disease progresses varies.

On average, a person with Alzheimer's lives four to eight years after diagnosis, but can live as long as 20 years, depending on other factors. Changes in the brain related to Alzheimer's begin years before any signs of the disease. This time period, which can last for years, is referred to as preclinical Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's typically progresses in three stages: early, middle and late (mild, moderate and severe). Learn about dementia symptoms to expect at each stage.
