Dr VandeWater has been working on this important testing for years, and it is finally here. Estimates as high as 20% of all children with autism the looks to be related to maternal antibodies that are created against the baby in the womb. Our office will be testing for these important antibodies this summer.

The risk of autism develops before we are even born, studies have shown.

This was a great summation of our food supply. If you want to raise healthy children, there are a few really good rules that will help develop healthy eating patterns. No juices or other drinkable empty calories, limit even milk during a day. Only “snack” on Whole Foods, such as fruits and veggies or a slice of fresh baked bread with butters. Follow dietary quantities for a serving of food at meals. For children, they really need a true protein (usually animal based) at every meal. As babies when you first introduce food, follow the same rules and DO NOT buy your babies packaged baby food snacks and juices. Good marketing does not match healthy eating. Better habits as children can really help to raise adults with healthy bodies.

Hi everyone, we have had a run on patients asking if we are dropping insurances. We have not dropped any major payers, there are some small plans that change their provider lists without our input. In addition, we limit the number of certain plans we accept as new patients. In those situations, established families are welcome to stay. Our healthcare system is very broken, sadly neither patients or providers have a lot of say in how it is run. We are committed to accepting insurance as long as we are able, and hope we never see the day that it becomes unviable.
