Taking a seat to stay in the game. 🛡️✨

I’m officially moving to the Injured Reserve (IR) list for the next two weeks. Following my surgery, I’ve had to make a hard pivot from “doing it all” to “healing it all.”

As a coach and a “busy body,” sitting still is the hardest workout I’ve ever done. But I’m prioritizing my recovery the same way I prioritize my training: with intention.

For the next 14 days, my “stats” look like this:
• Hydration: Hitting my water goals daily. 💧
• Nutrition: Fueling with high-protein plant-based meals, tons of fresh veggies, and complex carbs (like this amazing Mezeh bowl!) to repair tissue. 🥗
• Movement: Strict “Walking Only” protocol. No lifting, no straining, just the recovery shuffle. 🚶‍♀️

Sometimes the strongest move you can make isn’t pushing through—it’s knowing when to sit out so you can come back better. See you guys from the sidelines! 🛡️✨

I’m still working towards my goal… but today my body was like nah fam.

So I did 75 pull ups 100 push ups and 175 squats… and no other workout after. I’ll try again tomorrow…

You Are Already Worthy

In a world that constantly tells us we need to change, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking our bodies are just projects to be fixed. We set goals, whether it’s to get stronger, run a faster mile, or eat more nutritious foods, and sometimes we forget that the body we have right now is the one doing the work.

Working towards a goal and loving your body are not mutually exclusive—they are two sides of the same beautiful coin. You can want to grow, evolve, and improve, while also appreciating the incredible vessel that carries you through every day.

Your body isn’t an obstacle; it’s your teammate.
Celebrate the small victories. The extra push-up you managed, the walk you took when you didn’t feel like it, the meal you cooked from scratch. These aren’t just steps toward a future goal; they are acts of love for the body that is supporting you right now.
So, as you work towards your goals, remember to treat your body with kindness, respect, and gratitude. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about appreciating the journey and the incredible partner you have for the ride.

Six years ago my oldest brother lost his battle with depression. Before my brother passed I never talked about my struggles with mental health (I have schizoaffective disorder bipolar type I’ll do another post later)… it was a secret I kept to myself.

But when my brother passed I decided I would become an advocate for mental health and help end the stigma. If I could go back in time I would ask my brother to try one more day.

If you are struggling please reach out, we have a national hotline 988 it’s free and open 24/7. If you need someone to hold your hand I’m here!

Together we can end su***de and end the stigmas of mental health!
