Home birth and Midwifery Care in the DMV. I’m always humbled by the way families feel about the care my team and I give. I was blessed to work at a birth center for almost two years before choosing a slower pace. I chose to have a private practice to find a balance for time with my family and being aligned with the clients that are the perfect fit for my experience, personality, faith, and energy, among other things. I am truly blessed to walk this journey. I do not take this calling lightly. I look forward to more uneventful births and joyful experiences. ✨Early Labor = REST TIME✨When labor first begins, your job is to *rest, not stress*. 💤Here are some sweet ways to support your body while things warm up:🌿 Use a heating pad on your low back or hips🛁 Soak in an Epsom salt bath to ease tension🍵 Sip chamomile or passionflower tea, or take Calm powder to relax🌙 Skullcap tincture can help you ease into sleep if you’re feeling anxious🧘🏾‍♀️ Ignore those early contractions until they’re steady and strong💧 Drink water *with electrolytes* after every other wave to stay hydrated and fueledEven if things are mellow, always keep your midwife in the loop 💛📞 Especially if your water breaks or you’re feeling shifts in your body—we want to walk with you from the start.Early labor is the warm-up. As you may already know I’m really big on inclusive birthwork. This book was one of the required reading materials for and I’m so glad it was. I’ll be reading it on Clubhouse and there will be space to discuss. Please note that I don’t condone foolishness. This will be a space to broaden your understanding of how people identify. If you aren’t open to erasing judgement and bias please don’t join the room. Just saying. 📚😉
