We all have a lifetime of trauma in our bodies.
The onion represents that lifetime of trauma that is sitting in your body. Layer upon layer.
The fall you had 5 years ago. The car accident you were in 11 years ago. The surgery you had to remove your gallbladder. The 2 c-sections you’ve had. The sports injury you had in high school. The time you fell off your bike as a kid. When you were running as a child and smacked your head on a piece of furniture. The trauma you experienced when the doctor used a forceps to pull you out during your birth.
There can be a lot of layers in there. Pain is not a time stamp. Your mystery migraines or hip pain may have started within the past few months or years, but how long has the body been compensating from a trauma that happened in your past.
As a MFR therapist, my job is to look at the whole body and start peeling back the layers of the onion.
Sometimes your pain is coming from a trauma in a more recently layer, and sometimes the issue may be lying untouched deep in the layers of trauma.
It may take a few visits or it may take multiple visits to have a positive response for a specific condition.
Healing is a process, not an event.
