David Vance established the Diane Vance Endowed Nursing Scholarship at Methodist College in memory of his late wife. Diane was proud to be a nurse and an alum of Methodist College. David recently had the opportunity to meet Izabella, one of this year’s Vance scholarship winners. Diane’s passion for nursing continues to inspire others, and we’re honored to help David make this possible.

The original Pink Out Game Day for the Champaign Centennial Chargers softball team was postponed due to rain, but when it finally happened, the team hit it out of the ballpark, raising money for Mills Breast Cancer Institute. To make the event even more special, the mother of one of the team members is a 14-year cancer survivor. We’re deeply grateful for the team and all those who supported the Pink Out and local breast cancer patients.

Art therapy is a powerful tool for children who struggle to express their feelings with words. At Trillium Place Young Minds Center, an affiliate of Carle Health, art therapy is an essential service used by our care teams to meet the unique needs of each child. Thanks to a generous $2,000 gift from the Peoria Medical Society Alliance, our young patients will have access to new art supplies, helping them incorporate creative methods of expression in their healing journey.

Carle Richland Memorial Hospital recently accepted a grant from the Carrie Winter Trust to help transform imaging services for pediatric patients. The dollars will be used to ensure our youngest patients receive the best care possible. This includes a hand immobilizer to hold a small hand flat during the exam; an immobilizer designed to provide maximum comfort and stability for children 4 months to age 3; and a flap set to hold infants safely in place during MRI or X-ray scans.

The 2025 Carle Health Golf Open is just one month away, and we’re incredibly grateful to our premier sponsors who make this two-day event a “hole in one.” More than 350 golfers are expected to join us at Atkins Golf Club for our two-day signature fundraiser, which will benefit substantial upgrades to the Emergency Department and Trauma Services at Carle Foundation Hospital. Together, we’re driving change and making a lasting difference.

When the Champaign Rotary completed its Action Auction this spring, a portion of the $300,000 raised went to making an impact on childhood literacy through Books from Brek. We’re excited to help this nonprofit triple its impact by delivering bags of books to families in our Healthy Beginnings program. A heartfelt thank you to the Soldwedel/Neiswender family for their unwavering commitment to increasing book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout the Champaign-Urbana area.

Babies spend nine months attached to their mother by a cord. And any mom-to-be who’s used a fetal monitor knows what that feels like. Wired leads used to track fetal heartbeats and uterine contractions can be uncomfortable, restricting movement and requiring frequent adjustment.

But that’s changing at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, thanks to a new wireless fetal monitoring system made possible by an $8,387 grant from the Carle Richland Greatest Needs Fund. We’re grateful for our many donors who always keep patient care and comfort top of mind.

Whitney’s Walk for Su***de Prevention & Awareness, hosted by Carle Health Center for Philanthropy in Greater Peoria, returned for its 22nd year last weekend. Since 2004, this annual 5K has raised more than $1.9 million, and we’re proud to keep 100% of the proceeds in Greater Peoria to fund educational resources and programming about mental health and su***de prevention. Many thanks to the hundreds of runners and walkers who helped us raise nearly $75,000 in 2025. You’re part of the solution.

For a parent or guardian, there’s nothing more frightening than watching a child struggle to breathe. In those critical moments, quick intubation is essential to prevent damage and restore the flow of life-giving oxygen. And now, Emergency Department (ED) doctors at Carle Health Pekin Hospital have a new tool to do that: a new video laryngoscope made possible by an $11,000 grant from the Carle Health Pekin Greatest Needs Fund. This little addition helps young ED patients, and their families, breathe easier in a traumatic event. We’re extremely grateful to our donors for this lifesaving equipment.
