Welcome to the Exercise Psychology Laboratory (EPL) page! The EPL is in the Department of Departments of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Northeastern University, is directed by Dr. Neha Gothe and focuses on the study of determinants and consequences of physical activity behavior across the lifespan. Research conducted in the EPL involve older and middle-aged adults, college students, and youth. The primary outcomes of interest in our work are physical activity, psychological health, physical function, and quality of life.

We are excited to have Dr. O'Neil join the Exercise Psychology Lab at Northeastern as a Postdoctoral Research Associate!

Dr. O'Neil is an interdisciplinary scientist who conducts developmentally informed exercise and sport psychology research. He is specifically interested in the motivational processes regulating physical activity, and the role of physical activity in shaping psychological and social well-being.

🧘‍ The Exercise Psychology Lab in the Department of Human Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences is recruiting adults affiliated with Northeastern University (students, faculty, staff, or alumni) for The Mind-Body Project — a research study focused on mindful eating and yoga.

This 8-week program is designed for adults (18 years or older) who may be experiencing challenges related to stress, eating habits, or weight. Participants will attend weekly mindful eating workshops and be encouraged to attend on-campus yoga classes. Researchers are exploring if these programs are useful and enjoyable for participants and how these practices can support overall well-being and body composition.

✨ A chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in mind-body health
