Our annual Christmas Dinner at the Barn Restaurant in Sauder Village was a wonderful evening shared with staff and consumers from Defiance, Fulton, Williams, and Paulding counties. We even had a surprise guest from the North Pole stop by!

Honoring the Life of Mark A. Short

Today, our CRSI family pauses to remember Mark A. Short, who passed away on November 15, 2025. Mark was 61 years old and had been part of our CRSI community for an incredible 23 years. During that time, he became more than someone we served—he became family to the many staff who cared for him and the friends who shared life with him.

Mark did not have any living family members at the time of his passing, and because of that, his CRSI team lovingly stepped into that role. They were with him through everyday routines, celebrations, challenges, and joys. They were his support system, his circle, and his home.

While we do not typically post publicly about the passing of individuals we support, with no family remaining to honor his memory, we felt it was important to share his story and invite our community to help celebrate his life.

Mark was a gentle soul who enjoyed good meals with friends, shopping at Goodwill, classic TV shows, old movies, and his beloved Oldies and Country music—especially Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. His kindness, routine, and humor touched all who knew him.

To honor his life, CRSI will host a Celebration of Life:

We were proud to celebrate our incredible Clark and Champaign County teams at our 2025 Staff Appreciation Luncheon held at Young’s Jersey Dairy! Staff enjoyed a well-deserved day of fun, laughter, and connection while taking part in putt putt, delicious ice cream, and a variety of other activities.
It was a joyful opportunity to say THANK YOU to the dedicated professionals who make a difference every single day. Your compassion, hard work, and commitment do not go unnoticed — we are so grateful for each of you!
