Rude!! Isn't menopause itself bad enough! What can we do about it?
While you can't completely stop the effects that these hormone changes have on your skin, you can consistently do a few things to help decrease collagen breakdown and promote collagen synthesis:
1. Use broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen daily with re-application as needed. Sun exposure is known to break down Collagen, causing premature aging in the form of sagging, lines & wrinkles. (Collagen is a protein that gives your skin structure.)
2. Always avoid unprotected sun exposure! Use sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, an umbrella, and UV protective clothing.
3. Seek medical-grade, scientifically-proven skincare products that help boost collagen synthesis and diminish the signs of hormonal aging.
