At Amber Glen, our compassionate care is not just provided in the building. Today our resident experience director, Sadie Gauna, and community resource director, Dawn Sandone, brought love, joy, and a delicious Dairy Queen blizzard to one of our residents during a brief Carle Hospital stay.

The magic dancing rice experiment is a fun and simple science activity where rice appears to "dance" in a jar due to a chemical reaction.

This is achieved by mixing baking soda and vinegar, causing carbon dioxide bubbles to form, which attach to the rice and make them float!

Everyone had a great time with this fun experiment. 🧪👩🏻‍🔬⚗️

Everyone enjoyed our weekly “Prairie Pickers Garden Club”! This week we joyfully relished collecting fresh partridge pea. 💐

The partridge pea is a species of legume native to most of the eastern United States. It is an annual which grows to approximately 0.5 meters tall. It has bright yellow flowers from early summer until first frost, with flowers through the entire flowering season if rainfall is sufficient.

A very special thanks to our outstanding resident experience team, led by Sadie Gauna, for a unique, uplifting afternoon adventure -- dancing with sunflowers. Our residents beamed with happiness, as did the sunflowers. Thanks, also, to community resource director, Dawn Sandone, for capturing truly magical moments.
