Progress at home can look different than in therapy—and that’s okay! If your little one took five bites in therapy but only touches it at home, that’s still a win. 🥳
Here are 5 tips to help new foods feel familiar and fun at home:
✨ Keep it low-pressure
✨ Offer tiny bites or a “learning plate”
✨ Pair new foods with favorites
✨ Practice outside mealtimes (cutting, mashing, painting with puree, cooking, grocery store “food detective” games, smelling spices, sorting foods by color/texture)
✨ Praise effort, not how much is eaten
At home, the goal is comfort and curiosity—let mealtime be about exploring, not just eating! 🍎🫛🍔
