We won’t sugarcoat it…

The postpartum season is one of the hardest things you will ever walk through. And on top of that, most of us are doing it without a real guide, a real village, without much honesty about what it actually feels like.

This advice is everything we wish someone would’ve told us as new moms.

Save it for when you need a reminder. Or send it to a mom who might need it right now.

WOO-HOO DR. SARAH!!! 🎉👏

Out of office but make it ✨professional growth✨

Dr. Sarah spent the day at the Iowa Psychological Association Conference brushing up on the latest in testing, learning all the nerdy (but VERY important) things, and leveling up her already incredible brain 🧠💁‍♀️

We love a queen who stays curious, keeps growing, and brings that knowledge right back to her clients 💛🌿

Basically… your testing is in very good hands 😉

Give Dr. Sarah some love!! ⬇️💐

Flashback Friday ✨

Back to where it all began.

December 2021.
Just me, myself, and my hubs…sitting in a tiny little office in Ames, Iowa (due to a highly unethical non-compete while transitioning out of my previous group practice).

At the time, I had a newly one-year-old and a three-year-old at home… and if I’m being honest, I had no idea what the next five years were going to look like.

I didn’t have all the answers.
I didn’t have a team.
I didn’t have a perfect plan.
I didn’t have fancy investors or big loans to make this work.

But I did know one thing:
Women needed more. And there was a huge gap in care that deserved to be filled.

Within just a couple of months… that tiny office turned into a 50-person waitlist.
And that’s when it really hit me: this wasn’t just an idea. This was something Iowa needed.

Looking back, I wish someone would’ve told me to buckle up… because what came next was growth, chaos, learning, building, so many tears, and more impact than I could have ever imagined. Entrepreneurship has tested me in more ways than I can put into words. So much has changed from this day. Yet, so much has stayed the same (like Mitch putting together a million pieces of furniture at all times 😉)

And now here we are 🤍

If you’re at the beginning of something… unsure, overwhelmed, but feeling that pull in your gut:
this is your reminder that you don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just have to start.

If this resonates, it might be because you’ve been trying really hard to be a “good mom.”

The kind of mom who:
• keeps the peace
• says yes when she’s exhausted
• tries to do everything “right”
• takes care of everyone before herself

The one who over-functions so no one else has to.

And for a while, that version of motherhood might have felt like the safest way to do it.

But lately… it just feels heavy.

Not because you aren’t grateful.
Not because you don’t love your kids.
Not because you’re failing.

But because constantly people-pleasing your way through motherhood will slowly disconnect you from yourself.

There’s another version of motherhood emerging for a lot of women right now.

Not the perfect mom, but the aligned mom.

The one who:
• sets boundaries without guilt
• trusts her instincts
• expresses her needs
• lets things be imperfect
• stops carrying things that were never hers to hold

Alignment doesn’t mean you stop caring.
It means you stop abandoning yourself in the process of caring for everyone else.

And if the “good mom” role is starting to feel too small for who you’re becoming…

That might be your nervous system asking for something more honest ✨

Big things are happening at Bloom… and they’re all rooted in one goal: caring for women more fully 🤍

As we continue expanding our medical services- bringing together mental health, hormone support, and whole-body care: we’re also growing something that’s been quietly meaningful inside our space…

Our Bloom Library 📚

A completely free, ever-growing collection of books that our clients (and community) can check out anytime. These are the books that help you feel seen, understood, and a little less alone in whatever season you’re in.

From motherhood… to mental health… to healing, identity, relationships, overall women’s wellness and everything in between- this space is for you.

We’ve had so many of you ask how you can support what we’re building here, and honestly… this is one of the most special ways.

We created a Bloom Wishlist filled with books we’d love to add to our library: so we can continue showing up for the women of Iowa in tangible, meaningful ways.

If you feel called to contribute, we would be so incredibly grateful 🤍

Every single book added is one more resource, one more moment of connection, one more woman feeling supported.

Happy Easter from our family to yours 🌷
Here’s to the moms managing sugar highs, outfit negotiations,
and trying to snap one decent photo 😅
You’re the magic behind it all: even when it feels messy.

We are so excited to introduce Shannon to our clinical team! ✨

Shannon is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and she is going to be an incredible addition as we continue to expand our services for children, parents, and families.

Shannon brings a unique, non-traditional approach to therapy: recognizing that our experiences and emotions aren’t just stored in words. She integrates expressive and play-based techniques alongside evidence-based practices, allowing clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in ways that feel more natural and accessible.

She works with children as young as four, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, with a special passion for strengthening the parent-child relationship and attachment bond.

Her clinical approach includes:
• Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Client-Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, and Sandtray

Shannon truly embodies the kind of thoughtful, creative, and relationship-centered care we value at Bloom, and we are so excited for you all to get to know her.

Outside of the therapy room, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and friends and is always open to learning something new 💛

✨ Introducing Bloom Essentials ✨

For nearly five years, we’ve had the honor of walking alongside women through some of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life: pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and everything in between.

And through that journey, one truth has become undeniable:
there is a gap in care: and women are feeling it every day.

Mental and physical health have been treated as separate conversations. But your body doesn’t work that way. And neither should your care.

We believe healing requires a whole-person approach. Which is why we created Bloom Essentials.

A custom supplement line designed to support women’s mental, hormonal, and physical well-being together.

Paired with our in-house functional lab testing and personalized interpretations, we move beyond guesswork and into precision, data-driven healing. This can include being paired with medication or taking them individually: it doesn’t have to be one way or the other. We believe in combining traditional medicine with functional medicine and believe that there is totally space for both.

Because your body is always speaking:
through your energy, your mood, your sleep, your cycles, your stress.

And more often than not, those signals are rooted in your hormones.

When we slow down and truly listen, we can begin to connect the dots between your physical symptoms and your mental health, between what you’re feeling and what your body is trying to tell you.

And that’s where real healing begins.

Because you deserve more than trial and error.
You deserve answers. You deserve alignment. You deserve a plan.

This is more than supplements.
This is about bridging the gap: and finally bringing mental and physical health together in a way that makes sense.

We are so proud to bring this to life. Formulated with intention. Backed by care.

Limited batch available in our clinic, website to order coming soon ✨

Two days, so many meaningful conversations, and a whole lot of inspiration 💛

Madison, Karlee, and Steph (not pictured from day 1) had the best time attending the U of I Perinatal Medicine Conference: soaking up knowledge, sharing ideas, and connecting with some truly incredible providers who are all doing such important work for women and families.

There’s something really special about being in a room full of people who care this deeply about perinatal mental health and whole-person care ✨

Feeling energized, inspired, and so grateful to be part of this community. Already counting down to the next one! 💫
