We need your help to volunteer for a free ultrasound to help us advance in our skills!

Our midwives, Kayla & Lauren, are receiving formal training in limited obstetrics ultrasound which includes early ultrasounds to determine estimated due date, assessing amniotic fluid levels, fetal position, gender and more. Important to note, these are NOT anatomy ultrasounds.

We need some pregnant mamas who don't mind getting an ultrasound when the technician will be in the clinic for the hands-on portion of the training!

When: Thursday January 15 and Friday January 16

Time: appointments are 30 minutes long and slots are available from 9:30am-4:30pm

Where: Heart of Iowa Midwifery Clinic, 2485 SE 1st Street, West Des Moines, IA 50265

Who: anyone who is pregnant and at least 8 weeks along!

These are FREE ultrasounds. Please email or call us to schedule an appointment if you would be willing to help us out and let us practice our skills!

Izzi Buckles has a bachelors in Dietetics from Western Illinois University. She has her masters from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeast College of Health Sciences) in Applied Clinical Nutrition. She is currently working on her PhD in Christian Health and Healing and is expected to graduate in 2026.

Izzi has been in practice serving the community holistically since 2017.

Izzi is a Certified Clinician in Whole Food Nutrition (2020). An advanced trained Nutrition Response Testing practitioner (2017-2019). A certified Emotion Code Practitioner (2020).

Izzi specializes in fertility care, perinatal care and postnatal depletion.

Izzi was saved in 2015 after ungracefully walking through the trenches of PPD. To which her Lord and Savior pulled her out of. Because of this she has committed to helping moms through pre and postnatal depletion, endocrine imbalances and fertility care.

Izzi is most importantly a daughter of The King, the wife to Tyler and a mother to their 6 beautiful children. If she isn’t studying or working you will find her at church or the gym!
