It is Movement Monday, and this week we are spotlighting Rock Steady Boxing! 🥊💜

Rock Steady Boxing is a nonprofit organization that offers boxing-inspired fitness programs specifically designed for people with Parkinson's disease. No punches are thrown at opponents, but participants work hard to fight back against their symptoms through non-contact boxing drills, cardio, strength training, and balance exercises.

Research has shown that intense exercise, particularly boxing, may help slow the progression of Parkinson's symptoms and improve quality of life. Rock Steady Boxing has helped thousands of people living with Parkinson's regain strength, confidence, and community.

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding of Parkinson’s disease and share practical ways to support those living with it. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, coordination, balance, and muscle control.

Aging in place with Parkinson’s can be safe and achievable, but it requires a thoughtful approach that addresses mobility, daily routines, home design, and overall health management. Symptoms change over time, so families need a plan that can adapt as needs evolve. We put together some things to consider to help create that plan and some peace of mind.

At Senior Helpers, we focus on helping families create safe, supportive environments so individuals living with Parkinson’s can continue to age in place with confidence, comfort, and dignity. For more information on how Senior Helpers can help you age safely in place, call 515-251-7444.

It is Movement Monday, and this week we are diving into one of the most important questions in Parkinson's care: why does movement matter? 💜🚶

For those living with Parkinson's disease, staying active is about so much more than fitness. Regular movement can help reduce stiffness, improve balance and coordination, support mental and emotional wellbeing, and make a meaningful difference in overall quality of life.

The best part? It does not have to be intense. Even gentle, intentional movement can have a real impact.
Follow along as we break it all down this Movement Monday! 💪
