Did you know Abraham House began with a generous gift from local physician Dr. A.L. Shaheen?

He donated his 2-bed home in Utica so families facing terminal illness could have a place for peace, dignity, and comforting care — completely free of charge.

That simple act of compassion became the foundation for who we are today. Since opening in 1998, we’ve expanded with a 6-bed home in Rome and continue to grow with one purpose: to ensure that no one has to face the end of life alone.

We say Our House, Your Home. Our houses are not places where our guests come to die - they choose our homes to complete their living. ♾️
