This past Saturday, CFLR proudly marched in Rome’s Honor America Days Parade — a cherished tradition that celebrates patriotism, community, and the spirit of independence. A reminder of the values that bring us together as a nation: freedom, resilience, and unity.

This year’s theme, “There’s No Place Like Rome in the ’80s,” 💾🕺🌟 brought a wave of nostalgia, fun, and neon energy as we honored the city’s vibrant past and enduring strength.

Thank you to everyone who cheered us on, celebrated with us, and stood alongside us in support of family, recovery and community strength. We’re grateful to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring day!

What a ride! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

CFLR was proud to support the Cycle the Erie Canal tour as cyclists rolled through Rome, NY last week! This fully supported, 400-mile, 8-day journey from Buffalo to Albany is more than just a ride—it’s a powerful celebration of history, nature, and community.

Our team was thrilled to welcome riders with cheers, water bottles, bike locks, cooling towels, and warm encouragement—all while witnessing the incredible energy that comes from movement, connection, and shared purpose.

Thank you to all the cyclists, organizers, and volunteers who made this event so meaningful!

CFLR had an incredible time collaborating with Connected Community Schools at the F3 Block Party on Wednesday, July 16 in Rome!

From face painting and games to connecting with families and celebrating community spirit, it was a day full of laughter, resilience, and meaningful moments.

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by our table and to our partners at Connected for creating such a vibrant, welcoming space for all.

Do you believe in the power of prevention to change lives and communities? At the Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR), we’re searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Prevention Specialist to help lead substance use and mental health education efforts across our region.

We don’t just serve the community—we’re rooted in it. CFLR owns our building in Rome, NY, which gives us a stable home base for impactful, long-term work.

💼 What You’ll Do:
• Plan and deliver evidence-based prevention programming to schools, youth groups, and community partners
• Build trusted relationships with educators, parents, and stakeholders
• Lead presentations and workshops that promote wellness, resilience, and healthy choices
• Collect data and help track program effectiveness

🎓 What You Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Health Education, Psychology, or a related field preferred
• Experience working with youth or in a community-based setting is a plus
• Strong public speaking, facilitation, and organizational skills
• A passion for prevention and a desire to educate and uplift
