The Social Security Administration has announced a 2.8% Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for 2026.

This will impact individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in New York State who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).

While monthly benefit payments are set to increase, it’s important to consider that people with disabilities often experience higher healthcare and housing expenses. Additionally, changes in Medicare premiums and deductibles may influence the overall impact of the COLA increase.
