Governor Hochul released her proposed FY 2027 New York State Budget, including several investments that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The proposal includes funding to expand services, support housing, and strengthen assistive technology and accessibility across the state.

One key item is a 1.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII) for OPWDD providers. This is helpful, but the Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows that costs have gone up by about 2.7%. We are asking New York State to increase the TII so providers can keep services strong and support staff.

We also urge the Governor and State Legislature to add Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) to the list of groups that will get the Targeted Inflationary Increase. Care managers are often the first and most important contact for individuals and families as they work through complicated Medicaid, health care, and human services systems.
