This week we presented Gina Welch, HR business partner, with a BEE Award!

The BEE (Be Extraordinary Everyday) Award recognizes team members outside of nursing for going above and beyond to care for patients, visitors and each other.

This is what Gina's nominator had to say about her: "Gina has put together Hope for the Holidays to help families within our organization that may not be able to provide Christmas for their children. Every year, she takes in all the families that are asking for help and matches them with a department that can provide our fellow coworkers with a huge relief during a very stressful time of year. Holidays are about giving and showing love and Gina goes above and beyond every year to do this."

Congratulations, Gina!

This week we presented James Jackson from Patient Transport with a BEE Award!

The BEE (Be Extraordinary Everyday) Award recognizes team members outside of nursing for going above and beyond to care for patients, visitors and each other.

Here is what James’ nominators (his colleagues from the Emergency Department) had to say about him:

“James went above and beyond protecting staff and maintaining patient safety in a courageous and professional manner. Thank you so much from the ED RNs!"

"A patient in the ER was getting in a nurse's face and threatening her. James intervened and got in front of the nurse and spoke with the patient, while a Code BERT was called and Security arrived. He is always there to support and help the nurses. His dedication to his fellow healthcare team is amazing!! Thank you!!"

Congratulations, James!

MVHS Family Medicine faculty and residents recently completed hands-on training in intrauterine device (IUD) contraception, strengthening our ability to provide comprehensive, evidence-based reproductive care for our patients.

Access to safe, effective contraception is a critical component of maternal health before, between and beyond pregnancies. This training reinforces our commitment to full-spectrum family medicine and patient-centered care.

We are proud to recognize this milestone in honor of Maternal Health Awareness Week and to continue expanding the services we offer to support the health and autonomy of our community.
