On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Kathy Lenz from Cassville was presented with her winnings from the 29th annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) $100,000 Miracle Drawing that was held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit Maternal Child Services throughout the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS).
“I have been buying a ticket since 2007,” said Lenz, a retired special education teacher. “I still can’t believe I won.”
Lenz is planning to celebrate by splurging on good seats at a Buffalo Bills game and doing some home improvement projects. She purchased the winning ticket at Chanatry’s Hometown Market.
“This is such a wonderful fundraiser,” continued Lenz. “I just love seeing the miracle children every year and supporting such a great cause.”
Since the Miracle Drawing began in 1996, more than $9.8 million has been raised to benefit the CMN Hospitals program at MVHS. All of the money raised from the Miracle Drawing is used to care for local children. This year alone, funds were used to purchase a panda warmer for use in the NICU, a vein visualization system for the Pediatric Unit and a portable ultrasound machine. CMN Hospitals program funding is also used in other areas of MVHS.
