MVHS serves the geographic area of Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties and is an integrated delivery system with 3,300 full-time equivalent employees and a combined operating budget of $648 million. The group also provides services in many specialty areas including women’s and children’s health; general, cardiothoracic, vascular, orthopedic and neurological surgery; advanced endoscopy, wound care, bariatric, cardiovascular, comprehensive stroke, cancer,
immune health, behavioral health, psychiatry and neurosciences, pulmonary critical care and urology. All of our locations accept all major insurances and have designated charity care programs to help provide for individuals without insurance.

MVHS is partnering with the Oneida County Local Development Corporation (OCLDC) on a $50,000 investment to strengthen physician retention in our region. This funding will support our Resident-to-Attending Bridge Program, helping final-year medical residents transition into long-term attending roles right here in our community.

With structured mentorship, faculty development, board prep support and relocation assistance, this program will help to keep more talented physicians caring for our families, friends and neighbors.

This past weekend, MVHS held its annual employee appreciation event at the Utica Zoo.

The Utica Zoo staff did an amazing job accommodating the MVHS team and First Source Federal Credit Union was handing out free slushies and snacks. And of course, SECON’s infamous DJ Maggie Giacovelli was getting people moving on the dance floor!
