Meet Jody
Hello! I’m Jody, a wife, mother, and Registered Dietitian. I received my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Loma Linda University. I am also a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, and I am currently enrolled in The School of Applied Functional Medicine. My 20 years’ experience as a dietitian has given me clinical experience in the hospital and long-term care settings. While working with patients in long-term care, I learned a lot about disease processes, lab work, medications, and end-of-life care. Most importantly, was how all of these were closely tied to nutrition. I saw first-hand how lab work can improve, number of medications can be reduced and residents “graduate” off of hospice care, just by getting adequate nutrition. Because wellness is my first passion, and the reason I became a dietitian, I grew increasingly frustrated with the restrictions that limited my ability to help people the way I wanted to – by getting to the root cause of their illness instead of just treating the symptoms. I believe food is medicine. I have shifted my career focus to help people build a healthy relationship with food and make positive food choices to restore and strengthen their health. I am currently enrolled in the School of Applied Functional Medicine to further my understanding of the body’s interconnectedness. Functional Medicine works to find the root cause of illness and disease and correct that imbalance, instead of just managing symptoms.

Working with me will give you practical and realistic nutrition information to build healthy habits, with a goal of drug-free healing. You will learn how to navigate the grocery store isles and understand food labels. I provide ways to reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals that disrupt your health. Personalized meal plans and tools take the guessing game out of meal time. I will also guide you in choosing supplements that are right for you. Supplements are necessary at times to help balance the imbalances in your body. You can feel confident in the fact that the supplements offered have been thoroughly researched for safety and effectiveness. It is my passion to provide you with solutions for clean eating, clean living and your best health.
