Dear Valued Patients,
We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to St. Philip Clinic, now Gapp Health Inc. Nancy Bloodworth NP has recently joined us in our commitment to providing exceptional medical care. Nancy is not new to our community, she practiced at St.Joseph Medical Clinic for the past two years. Beginning Monday, January 5th, the office will have new hours; Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5 :00 pm. Nancy will see patients everyday while Dr. Waguespack will see patients on Mondays and Thursdays. Please if possible, call the office for an appointment @ 225-265-4087 as we we are trying to eliminate walk-ins. We ask for your patience and understanding as we transition onto a new electronic medical record software as well. Longer wait times can be expected especially for walk-ins, while all established patients are now considered new patients to the ECW software system. All patient information has to be entered manually by our staff, insurance verified, and payments collected prior to visit. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you at your next visit to the clinic.

We are seeking a full time medical assistant. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred. Is willing to work weekdays from 8-5. We are looking for someone who is reliable, responsible, motivated, energetic, hardworking and is comfortable interacting with patients. Must be professional, dependable & able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Organized & able to multi-task to throughout the clinic. Greet & assist patients during the check-in/check-out process. Collect copays & deductibles. Able to perform all other related clerical duties in the office like answering phones, filing, faxing and copying, etc. Computer skills required to verify insurance information. Provide coverage for others within the practice, as needed. Must work as an effective team member as well as independently using ones own initiative. Must have your own transportation.

To our established/active patients:
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while we were closed and could not serve you and your needs.
The office will re-open Monday April 20th at 8:00 am. CORONAVIRUS is highly contagious, if you have symptoms of the Covid-19 virus PLEASE call 211 for further assistance or GO to the nearest Hospital ER. We will not be testing at our office, testing sites are available in your parish if you feel the need. You will be triage at our office on a one by one basis by calling first. Sorry, we are not seeing any new patients at this time. You may be asked to wait in your vehicle and will be EXPECTED to wear a mask to STOP the spread to our staff and other patients before entering. For now, your maintenance medications EXCLUDING narcotics can be filled as an emergency supply one month at a time. May God see all of us through this ordeal and bless us all, especially the essential workers!

The office is closed until further notice. If you have symptoms of Covid 19, please call 211 for further assistance or call the ER. Maintenance medications can be filled as an emergency supply one month at a time. We will reopen as soon as this pandemic on us as been resolved. Stay well and May God see all of us through this ordeal and bless us all!

Just to ease the inquiring minds of our patients and put an end to the rumor heard again today. Dr. Waguespack has no plans of closing his office or retiring anytime soon. Hopefully, when the time does arrive in the future we can give our patients a heads up on the office closing or on his retirement. For now, only God can decide if his working days should continue or not.
If not becomes the case, it’s may be out of our control to notify you in advance. Thanks to all our patients who continue to trust in Dr. Waguespack’s medical advice and treatment. Hopefully, we can continue treating you for a few more good years to come.

Due to tropical storm Barry we will start seeing patients again at 1pm today and will be closing early this afternoon.
Just a reminder the office is still closed on Saturday mornings. Hopefully, we will resume normal business hours on Monday if the weather permits. Sorry for this inconvenience, we are all in this together. Please pray that we all remain safe in Barry’s path and this storm brings as little devastation as possible.
